Foyer
Just a quick post to show off my new settee. It was BARBIE PINK!! for goodness sake, but I recognized good bones. It was part of that stuff from Kiwanis from the last post. Had to saw off the legs to make it fit 1:12. A coat of Tamiya paint always changes things for the better.

Sugar Shack 1
It all begins with some tasty dessert and coffee in a little private hideaway.
Things get cozy. I just wish they looked like they were enjoying themselves.
Cozier yet, but what's with the clothes???
Serenity.
Morning has broken.
I got this bed, the little chair and table, and the little purple case at Kiwanis last weekend for a song (1.25). The bed and case have BATTAT written on them. I think it is something like AG Minis, but I am not sure. They go together nicely with the metal table and lamp from AG minis I already had.
Look for Sugar Shack 2 coming soon.

School Supplies Into Minis
You come home tired from a long day, get some wine and plop down on the couch.
Evening turns to night and it doesn't pay to be anything but inert.
I found the dice at Staples in the back-to-school stuff. They are erasers. I like them for coffee tables in this groovy living room. The light is a sea urchin with Monika's cool LED light in it. The little elephant is from Neomi. Books are Barbie. Of course, the couch is from the famous-among-miniturists Bozart Kaleidoscope collection.

Tripping the Lights Fantastic in Orange
I got a wonderful orange Bodo Hennig Wohnzimmer Garnitur from my friend Monika. And, creative lady that she is, she also sent lamps she had made. That's one there on the coffee table. So I have my first scene with LIGHTS. Danke, Monika.
Not bad in daylight, either. Goes nicely with the Bodo Hennig shelves.

Kitchen - Before and After Fun With White Enamel Paint
Before
and...
After
A little more sophisticated. Dig those washers posing as burners on the stove. Finally figured out how to put shelving in my very old refrigerator from my childhood...LEGOS...the answer to everything. I don't know exactly when I got that, but it was a least as early as 1959. Took a dang long time getting the Legos to fit in there properly so the little re-ment bins fit, too. NO painting on that, though, as I am sentimental about it.
The chairs and most of the dishes on the table are my new Bozart/Kaleidoscope House buys.

Keuken Veldt
First the Swedes bring us Ikea, now the Dutch bring us Keuken Veldt. It's a busy opening day. The manager is a little over-zealous as he shows off his new store and makes sure everyone is being helped to find "something special."
Well, the whole idea behind using the word "veldt" was that I had found a funny rhino guy from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in my son's things when we moved him back from college. I had created this scene a little at a time over a few weeks (I've been so busy at work that I did not have time to do anything but piddle around with it) but it needed a spark. The rhino guy was my inspiration. Rhinos are on the African Veldt..hence the use of veldt, which is a Dutch word; get it? And veldt sounds like the German word Welt, as in Kitchen World...further wordplay. To complete the joke, the rhino guy was going to be one of the shoppers. Well...do you think we could find that guy in all the boxes we brought back? Nope. There went the joke. Heck, I just decided to go with it anyway.
Some of the things on display are Barbie things I got in that huge haul I posted about recently. I painted some a more appropriate color...pink frying pans are not my thing.
The guy from the Matrix plays the store manager and Cyclops is visiting Colossus. Both guys are my son's.
