Hunky Dory at 65/Cooking

I love what I call Adventure cooking; the more spices and other weird ingredients, the better. So here's a cute little kitchen all decked out for me.

For Thanksgiving I made Yorkshire pudding. Here is the table all ready.
There are eggs and milk, a whisk, a cookbook, and laptop so I can get the recipe.
I've got a little snack of bread, cheese and wurst.
There's a Corona and a crossword puzzle I am trying to add the last 4 letters to.
No quite sure why the open can of pudding is there; maybe I thought
I needed it for the Yorkshire "pudding,"

Nice sideboard laden with the necessities.

Simple things.

Little fridge and a bulletin board to keep up with life.

Water kettle for the all important coffee making. Spices and cooking tools.

Extra storage.

Fire extinguisher, steps to access hard to reach areas and a recycling bag.

Closer and inside views showing all the cool stuff.

Plates and bowls.

Rolling pin, skillet and serving trays.

Cutlery.

Chopsticks.

Snack drawer with Nestle Crunch and Smarties.

Extra plates.

Camping grill and plate.

Dishes above sink.

Dirty dishes in sink.

First aid kit and plunger under the sink.

Dinner cooking in oven.

Noodles and wine.

Well stocked fridge.

Beer and Coke.

Meat and sausages.

Veggies.

Full pantry.

Toaster.

Espresso maker.

Mixer.

It took me forever to finish this scene. I dithered around trying to make the refridgerator shelves out of Legos as the entire inside is really a big void. I have had the refridgerator since I was about 9 years old and I really love it but I wanted to be able to put things in it and make it look somewhat real. So I was able to make the shelves out of Legos today....finally. The drawers are Re-Ment but they work well here.
The blue and white sideboard and cabinet are German made by Modella (I think). The sink, stove and little cabinet are PlanToys which I painted white. The table and chairs are vintage found for me by my nephew Nicholas. The foods and kitchen implements are Re-Ment, Playmobil, Kaleidoscope House, L'il Woodzeez, Barbie or misc. things from here and there. The whisk, bowl, cookbook and eggs are from my sister Erika.

My New Workplace

Okay, I have not posted in ages, thought I'd lost the mini-moxie. I quit a job, had to look for a new one; minis fell by the wayside. Got to talking about it with my husband and son and well...here we are. And, as you can see by the time posted, I couldn't sleep.

I have a wonderful new job and had the idea to well...sort of recreate my setting. Of course, I don't have the right colors of anything, but you will get the jist of it.

I work for a biopharmaceutical company so there are my glasses to wear in the lab (not a scientist...just walking through). I have a monitor connected to my laptop...big spreadsheet to work on. There is my lunchbox always under the desk.

Laundry Time

"Small" chores....we all have to do them.

Twenty floors up, nice view, new washer and dryer.

The decor may be someone's idea of a joke.

Colossus is happy that she got the large size hangers.

And, it's fun to read while you are waiting. Pretty sure you are not supposed to be sitting on the dryers, though.

Many thanks again to my son for his assistance on this project. He suggested I use the gum containers for something. I thought they looked like a washer and dryer so here's my idea. We both love Legos so it was fun making the controls...also the pipe is supported by Legos. He also made the little hangers in the laundry basket.

"Wood"n't You Want To Live Here?...I "Wood"

Goin' for the natural wood look.

The picture is a little "grainy."

Nice warmth of wood in the kitchen, too.

All set for Kaffeeklatsch with some beignets.

And, upstairs, a purple bedroom.

All homes are better with a chimp who loves ChocoSmoothie.

A big thank you to my sister and her family..my brother-in-law and nephew found the vintage wood furniture at an antique store...for this wonderful birthday present.
Thanks to my son Will for the wood plant pedestals and bedside table. He's quite the connoisseur of wilder wood. He also gave me the MooCow chocolate milk, the Sugar Flakes and the really big sandwich. Scenes are always better if someone "messes" with them a bit. Will added the chimp.

Here's how it all looks when you get a full view.
