Hunky Dory at 65/Cooking

I love what I call Adventure cooking; the more spices and other weird ingredients, the better. So here's a cute little kitchen all decked out for me.

For Thanksgiving I made Yorkshire pudding. Here is the table all ready.
There are eggs and milk, a whisk, a cookbook, and laptop so I can get the recipe.
I've got a little snack of bread, cheese and wurst.
There's a Corona and a crossword puzzle I am trying to add the last 4 letters to.
No quite sure why the open can of pudding is there; maybe I thought
I needed it for the Yorkshire "pudding,"

Nice sideboard laden with the necessities.

Simple things.

Little fridge and a bulletin board to keep up with life.

Water kettle for the all important coffee making. Spices and cooking tools.

Extra storage.

Fire extinguisher, steps to access hard to reach areas and a recycling bag.

Closer and inside views showing all the cool stuff.

Plates and bowls.

Rolling pin, skillet and serving trays.

Cutlery.

Chopsticks.

Snack drawer with Nestle Crunch and Smarties.

Extra plates.

Camping grill and plate.

Dishes above sink.

Dirty dishes in sink.

First aid kit and plunger under the sink.

Dinner cooking in oven.

Noodles and wine.

Well stocked fridge.

Beer and Coke.

Meat and sausages.

Veggies.

Full pantry.

Toaster.

Espresso maker.

Mixer.

It took me forever to finish this scene. I dithered around trying to make the refridgerator shelves out of Legos as the entire inside is really a big void. I have had the refridgerator since I was about 9 years old and I really love it but I wanted to be able to put things in it and make it look somewhat real. So I was able to make the shelves out of Legos today....finally. The drawers are Re-Ment but they work well here.
The blue and white sideboard and cabinet are German made by Modella (I think). The sink, stove and little cabinet are PlanToys which I painted white. The table and chairs are vintage found for me by my nephew Nicholas. The foods and kitchen implements are Re-Ment, Playmobil, Kaleidoscope House, L'il Woodzeez, Barbie or misc. things from here and there. The whisk, bowl, cookbook and eggs are from my sister Erika.

Again Beany is the inspiration...

I'm not sure Beany of Minis-B-Happenin' meant it the way I interpreted it, but she was my inspiration.  In a comment on my post "Beach Blanket Gambit or My Beau, LeBeau" she said, "What more could a person want, you ask? TWO bottles of wine and MONEY!!"
I told her my next post would have the requested TWO bottles of wine and MONEY. And here it is....

The Studio Apartment

Our young couple just moved into their one room studio.
They don't have much.
No kitchen.
No fan...just a poster of a fan.

No picture to put in the nice frame they found.

What they do have is just enough money for TWO bottles of wine
(they are counting the rest).

Hopefully a bathroom...down the hall, maybe.
A nice bed.
A huge origami elephant made from a giant dollar bill.

A coffeemaker, a blender, a toaster...some hot sauce.

EACH OTHER.

Thanks Beany...couldn't have done it without you.

Just When I Thought My Scene Was Safe

So here comes my sweet son to further accessorize my scene. Nice.

And I see the baby is now in the sink...alone! And what is a bunny doing there. My scenes..never safe again.

The thing in the toilet is a Lego rock monster and the bunny is a Safari miniature.

Bi-Level Bathroom or See Where An Accidental Boob Graze Gets You

Beautiful new bi-level bathroom is all tidy and ready for the family.

Even matches and a plunger...just in case.

Time for baby's bath.

Here's the accidental boob graze.

And...here's what it leads to.

Just a comment on the fact that this bi-racial couple has a very blonde baby. I believe in love most of all and whatever love creates whether it is by birth or by other means is wonderful. In this blog we don't discriminate in any way, not based on color or ethnicity or country of origin..none of that (in fact we even have consorting between humans and mutants; see prior blogs).

Nod to Neomi and Thanks to Monika and The Weather

Neomi made a wonderful Seder post which inspired me (A second to the Seder and A Happy Passover to You All) and Monika sent me a whole bunch of wonderful stuff so this post is for them. Ironically, the things Monika sent included the same credenza as Neomi used in a different color.

The tent is all decked out for a wonderful afternoon..springtime in Michigan. Sulu takes a photo before the guests arrive.

Tent is an Ikea tote for stuffed animals. Credenza and cabinet are Modella from Monika....THANKS! Other items from Monika are: lanterns and luminarias, most of the plants, cake on table, most of the dishes, table, teapot and cups on table, and coffee maker. Oese gave me the souffle. Cake on credenza is an Iwako eraser. Chairs are CB Christmas ornaments. Plant stand is from the Barbie Mall. Flowers on credenza are Barbie. Flowers on table are vintage German from my childhood. I made the pillows.

Thanks to Neomi for the wonderful inspiration...your post is much better!

Now for the miniaturist's truth.  I took the tent outside because it was such a pretty day. If you look closely at the pics, you will notice that there is a chain link fence and a fence post in the photo. And you can see the corner of our neighbor's house all big and out of scale. Also, when I took the tent outside...very carefully, I thought...I did not notice that the teapot had lost its lid and that the cups were tilted. Well this hobby isn't really about perfection; it's all about FUN.
