Cozy with Curtains

I've been wanting to make curtains for the dollhouse. Here's my first attempt at tab top curtains.

I love popcorn! Glad I found some for my dollhouse.

Kiwanis had a bin full of little minis. I got all these goodies for a dollar. Plus the orange pop.

precious!

Another dollar for the bracelet.

Don't Want To..Can't Leave

Lovely Living Room...NO way out.
Where's the door knob?

And here's how the whole house is looking. Some mess noted in attic..proper.  Mess in kitchen and bathroom not so much.

A Big Thanks To My Sister and Her Family For A Fun Present

My sister and her family sent me a little package with a lot of fun things in it.  Thanks sissy.  I'll be having a good time coming up with some scenes for them all.  Got some ideas already.

AND...here it is...first of the good ideas.

IT IS DANGEROUS TO LIVE IN A "BROKEN" HOME

Lovely to look at, but there is danger lurking.

Colossus and Nyota bring in the heavy artillery. He is short, but he looks like he might be able to handle it.

That broken window needs attention. "I'm on it ma'm."

"Lady, this table just ain't goin' to cut it...wait...that's just what it will do."

Sagt Die Oese, "Wo ist die Badewanne?"

Wenn du durch dem Fenster gukst kannst du die Badewanne sehen.  (When you peek through the window you can see the bathtub.)
I hope we don't have a little peeping Tom.

A thanks to my friend Oese from Raum für Raum for reminding me to take photos from outside.

And, here is the kitchen from the window.  Thanks to Craig for holding up the light so I could photograph this.  You can see my real kitchen in the background.

House Update...Peaceful "Rest"room

Serenity and nature abound in this restful room.

I have always wanted a chair in the bathroom for some reason.  So now I have room for one.

And here is what the two finished rooms look like together. Who is that sitting on the stairs?

Sunny Kitchen...house update

The kitchen is finished! Bright paint and plank flooring make it a pretty nice place to hang out while dinner is cooking.

Some coffee and beignets.

A quick check on the bread and dinner is almost done.

And, here's how the rest of the house is coming along. And, yes, Mad for Mod, I did paint the ceilings white just like you suggested...good suggestion.

MY FIRST DOLLHOUSE!!!! or I LOVE MY HUSBAND!!!

Well, I may be crazy. I found this dollhouse at the Salvation Army Thrift Store yesterday for 25.99!!!
I could not pass it up. But, as I brought it in the door, it got bigger and bigger and bigger. It looked kinda small in the store. So my dear, wonderful, absolutely stupendous husband who probably thought I was nuts moves his stuff off the top of the storage drawers I have miniature stuff in and puts my dollhouse on it. And then he puts my action figures on the porch, takes photos, and sends them to me at work in an email with a sweet message. Lots of crap at work so it came at just the right time. Gotta love a guy who is ok with a HUGE dang dollhouse in a tiny study already crammed with my dollhouse junk.

The dollhouse is a Cherrydale made by Walmer Dollhouses. Real Good Toys has a Liliput Cherrydale version that is similar but fancier as far as I can tell. The simpler one sells for 159.00.  This was already mostly put together except for trims, stairs, porch railing.  And, some of that stuff is missing. It is supposed to be Victorian, but I am going to do a modern take on it. It will be a challenge as I am not really the expert on doing trim and stuff like that. A learning experience to be sure. It is 1:12 scale. It'll be slow going as I don't always have lots of time for minis, but it should be fun doing it.

Thanks, Craig. You are my prince.

Birthday Love Nest

Colossus got Nyota (you will not believe this; I did not realize Uhura was her last name on Star Trek) a tent for her birthday.  He set it up in the house and gave her the other presents.  Then, when the weather turned sunny, he put it up outside and made a beautiful, serene little love nest.

The tent is a carrier for a stuffed animals I found at Ikea.  I just thought it was perfect for minis.

Too tired to give all credits. The white chair is from CB2.  It is a reproduction of the igloo chair and is meant to be a Christmas ornament. Thanks to Modern MC for scouting these out for all of us. The rug is my mouse pad.

My "Dollhouse"

I thought I should show what I have been using for a "dollhouse." My Mother's friend, Sylvia, gave me this salesman's sample box a long time ago. When I was hunting for a venue for my scenes, I thought this might be perfect. It works fairly well, but I am scouting for a small, narrow 3 or 4 shelf bookshelf so I can leave some scenes up for awhile. I will be checking Ikea soon as they may have the perfect thing. As it is now, I have to take one down before making another.
